Introduction
Special thank you to @LangdonTactical and the rest of the folks at Langdon Tactical for the phenomenal products and for doing the groundwork to make a solidly mounted red dot on a Beretta a reality, instead of just a dream.
All firearms handling, shooting, and demonstration is done on my private firing range on my property. All shooting is done in a safe and controlled environment, and whilst promoting safety and responsibility.
A huge shout out and thank you to my generous Patreon supporters and channel members who help me do this and whose contributions help with things like memory cards, reloading components so I can keep testing gear, as well as other production costs. So do that was good, we could have burned through a lot of ammo what's going on guys, you're watching the hungry handgunner.
And if you didn't pick it out, um by the intro, the beretta m9a3 has gotten an upgrade.
And that is courtesy of langdon tactical.
So check the mail today very excitedly.
And I had my new, uh, landon, tactical, red dot ready slide.
So if you're a beretta guy, and if you've been watching the channel for any length of time, chances are that you know that I am a big fan of the m9 and definitely the m9a3.
There was really only one other way to put a red dot optic on your beretta.
And that was to use one of those dinky little dovetail, uh, rear sight.
Adapters.
You get the height way over bore they're, not great.
I've tried them before anybody said, well, you should try one.
I've tried them don't like them.
So ernest, langdon over at langdon, tactical technologies, actually redesigned the beretta slide to make this work.
So I have got the optic on.
And it is zeroed.
It comes with the mount for the rmr pattern optics.
So this holosun 507c goes on there, just fine.
It does have a built-in rear sight and a suppressor height, front sight or high front sight that allows you to get a co-witness through the optic glass.
So that's, good that's, something I'm a fan of the debate rages on whether that's important or not.
So all I did, uh, took the slide put my guide rod and recoil spring and my barrel in there and uh, we're gonna find out just how good it works over the course of next.
However, long that I get to play with this thing.
So while I'm doing that, I am also going to be reviewing if I plan where I put the dang mag, um, the springer precision, plus 4 base pad.
So the m9a3 mag is a 17 round magazine with this little extension it now becomes a 21 round magazine.
So we'll be playing with those two in the coming weeks.
And letting you guys know if there's any problems, etc, what sort of things to watch for so let's play before the rain rolls in uh, let's.
Go, see.
How many I got left in this one looks like 10, maybe 11 rounds left in this mag and the holes go from 10 to 12 guys, not that I can't count, but let's have fun.
Uh, first, shot, double action, like the good lord intended there.
This is going to be a lot of fun.
This is really the only way I think you could improve on this gun and that's, not going to be in a fanboy that's, just I like it.
And it does come with the g, series, uh, d-cocker.
So no safety.
It springs back up to the fire position.
It is a decocker only which is good.
I actually did that myself on the other side.
So even little swingers are easier to hit with this thing.
Oh yeah, oh yeah.
This is gonna be a lot of fun.
Guys, um, go over to the table.
I'll, give you guys a better close-up talk about some of the differences in the slides because there are some and then we'll, probably shoot it.
Some more all right? So first thing I want to note here is there are no forward serrations on the m9 a3 side as it comes.
They fixed that on the langdon version.
So that's nice over here, if you wanted to color fill the red dot, you could it's throwing me for a loop because I'm used to seeing it there, not a big deal.
I don't really care that much about it, but you do have dovetailed front sight.
So that's, nice, if you wanted to change that out, you could the rear sight is obviously built into the optics plate.
So I'm, not complaining, though just a way to securely mount the optic on this pattern.
Firearm is pretty stinking awesome.
Uh, looking at it again.
Over here, give you guys kind of a side by side there.
So it really is just a phenomenal design.
A phenomenal thing to be able to do these guns are venerable pistols.
Uh, I like them.
I know a lot of people my age, gravitate towards striker guns.
And a lot of people in general there's, something about a d8sa gun.
So really the absence of a red dot is really the only thing that this gun was missing in my opinion.
And now that you can do that and do it.
Well, I might add is a fantastic thing.
So very cool, very straightforward, very easy, install there will be links in the description to lane and tactical's website for you guys to peruse possibly pick one up yourself.
They aren't cheap so know that going in, um, if you want to put a red dot on a beretta pistol, though, this is really the only way to do that.
Well in my opinion, so, and you are getting, um, some really cool craftsmanship.
So I will put more stuff in the description as far as just the specifics on what ernest langdon has done with this.
I am very impressed with it very excited about it so excited, in fact, that we're gonna shoot it some more all right.
So really the only downside for me at this point is that I am going to have to modify, um, my m9a3 holster to carry this.
Once I get some drills run with it and things like that, not the end of the world.
But there is that so we're, not doing any time.
Drills today, I'm, just, uh, familiarizing myself with the gun.
The forward serrations, wow, never know what you're missing right, very cool.
So play around some more here.
Let's go way out there.
We're gonna take about a 40 yard double action shot.
I've had no reliability issues so far, which, I know, we're still early on.
But I thought I would say that hit a little swinger double action.
So much fun it's, literally like taking one of your favorite toys, or whatever and then finding there's a way to make it even cooler.
Oh, we didn't want to return the battery there could be breaking in.
I don't know, I haven't cleaned and oiled it in a while either.
So there is that, but it did go forward.
This is the plus 4 base pad, too so find out some more double action.
Not bad three rounds left.
We'll do three more double action.
Shots I'm, just gonna practice on this rack missed.
My first one hit with the last single action shot anyway, guys, stay tuned.
I'm gonna be putting this thing through its paces as fast as I can and ammunition dependent very very excited about this it's, awesome.
Innovation, awesome stuff from langdon, tactical.
They do so complete firearms.
So if that's something you're interested in check their website out guys, if you are into beretta's, ernest langdon is the man so stay safe.
Keep shooting and I'll.
See you next time? So bye.
